In which, Independent Electric Group return to Chesterfield Labour Club with another fantastic line-up, featuring Sarah Sharp, Postictal and the Photophobes and Ichabod

Sarah Sharp’s peculiar brand of eccentric pop has been compared to artists as diverse as Amanda Palmer, Jarvis Cocker and Kate Bush. She sings songs about ornaments, cryptic crosswords, and derelict seaside towns.

Working with Leeds-based WI Productions, she won the South Yorkshire Filmmaker’s Network 2Weeks2MakeIt competition 2017 for her music video ‘Ornaments’, about a man who doesn’t get out enough and featuring some psychedelic rubber gloves.

Her first single, Egomaniac, is out now.

Sam Nash and Sarah Syncope of Postictal and the Photophobes will be performing an intimate, stripped down set in support of the debut album, “A Stomach Full Yeild”, executively produced by Jessica Heywood. Electronic, folk and experimental influences entwine to evoke a haunting soundtrack to the violent but compelling imagery of Heywood’s poetry. Described by Maria Harris of Tallbird Records as “a sometimes unsettling, sometimes darkly humorous, always interesting and atmospheric listen.”

Ichabod will be continuing his current hot streak and there will also be a short poetry set from host Matt McAteer

£5 entry, cheap bar, fantastic line-up
